Welcome to WOVEN WOMB BABY CARRIERS. 

I am Carrie, a Babywearing Advocate and a DiaperFreeBaby Mentor.

The Weepee got it's name because I designed it as part of "pee-ing my wee-one" or putting out my "sweet-pea to wee". The name stuck - and so has my commitment to wearing my baby in comfort and style.

This is a unique baby carrier. I developed the first prototype based on the traditional mei tai and then improved and altered it many times before deciding on the final design. I want to emphasize that even though the design process was extensive (the civil engineer in me :-), the Weepee itself is the ultimate in simplicity.

THE WEEPEE BABY CARRIER

is designed to carry your baby in front and in back. You can even carry your weeks old baby safely on your back in a hands free position. This carrier is ideal for newborns and heavy toddlers alike – I really think it is the ultimate tool for your happily growing little family.

FABRIC

The Weepee is constructed almost entirely from organic hemp/cotton. I have made a conscious decision to incorporate the most environmentally friendly, non-toxic material into the Weepee design.

The fabric selected for this carrier is a very important component of it's functionality as well. It provides the correct ratio of stiffness and stretch to snuggly envelope baby in a firm, comfortable carry. I noticed early on in the design process that a 100% cotton canvas just didn't provide adequate support for a heavier baby.

This hemp/cotton blend is very soft and will soften even more after use and washing. And, the great thing about hemp/cotton blends is that they wear well (this means the fabric will not wear out even after long-term use).

 

UNIQUE FEATURES

  • Straps and body pieces are constructed of organic hemp/cotton blend.
  • Sleepee collar is a luxuriously soft, natural, unbleached, organic hemp/cotton fleece.
  • Straps are all comfortably wide and shoulder straps are lightly padded.
  • Sleepee collar supports newborn heads and provides padding for tender underarms of older babes.
  • Padding in the shoulder straps is natural, unbleached, unprocessed cotton (non-toxic for baby and environment).

 

  • Outside pocket comes in a selection of colourful cotton fabric (african themed tie-dyes and batiks).

 

  • The entire Weepee is sewn with high quality thread for increased durability.
  • All weight bearing seams are triple stitched.
  • Outside pocket for carrying small items. 
  • Comes with it's own convenient carrying case (pocket reverses into itself to create a little sac).  
  • Weighs only 1.5lbs - you're not wasting your energy carrying your carrier around!!!!

BASIC DESIGN

The Weepee is a soft, unstructured style of carrier that ties-on (there are no buckles). It consists of a main body piece, four straps (two shoulder straps and two waist straps), two tying loops (this is what makes the Weepee design sooo comfy), and a padded headrest I have dubbed the "sleepee collar".

The sleepee collar (constructed of high grade hemp/cotton fleece) secures baby's neck to your body once lulled to sleep. In the upright position it provides support and acts as a soft, cuddly cushion for tender, young heads. An older, awake baby can easily push down the sleepee collar for more freedom with arm and head movement. The outside pocket is roomy and is designed to be turned inside out to be used as a convenient carry sac.
